Enhanced Mental Capacity - Vampires can process information much quicker and more efficiently than humans can. Think Data from Star Trek in the ability to see and process information.
Healing - Vampire are exempt from disease and injury and can heal quickly. However, severe wounds can cause pain and will take time and blood to generate healing.
Immortality - once turned, vampires cease aging, and they can potentially live forever. However, they can be killed through certain means. Vampires are immune to the effects of all known Earthly diseases and infections and can't be killed by conventional human means.
Psychic Visions - can see short distances in the future and the past.
Superhuman Agility and Speed - Vampires are incredibly quick, agile and dexterous which allows them to run and move with inhuman quickness.
Superhuman Durability - Whilst not immune to pain, vampires cannot be killed or permanently impaired by most conventional weapons, unless those weapons cause decapitation.
Superhuman Senses - Their senses are heightened and they have a conversation one with another that is undetectable by humans to hear. They can see through darkness, which makes them effective predators. Vampires, especially when hungry, can literally see the veins and arteries of humans within their skin as well as the blood flowing through them. Their sense of hearing allows them to hear low sounds from long distances away or to pick up a single conversation from within a large crowd. Vampires also seem to have a heightened perception of reality and can feel even the air blowing upon them.
Superhuman Strength - Their enhanced strength makes them deadly to humans; able to easily snap their necks with only one hand. Strength often grows with age, but not always.
Weaknesses
Blood Deprivation - Can be dehydrated, the whites of their eyes yellow. They can lose control of themselves and turn more animalistic in their need for blood.
Broken Neck - Will incapacitate but not kill.
Decapitation - Can kill!!
Fire - Younger vampires can be killed by fire, older vampires can burn but can heal from the burns.
Silver - Silver is poisonous if ingested. Touching silver causes no harm.
Sunlight - Younger vampires, even those that have eaten recently, the vampire can be irritated by sunlight and normally wear sunglasses and stay in the shade when outside. It can cause loss of strength and dehydration if in the sun for long periods of time. Older vampires seem to be fairly unaffected by even direct sunlight.
Wooden Stakes - Can be paralyzed by a wooden stake.
Creation
Hunger - All newborn vampires awaken with a deep craving for fresh human blood.
Intoxication - Newborn vampires are often overwhelmed by their new strength, speed, and blood hunger. It is very much like drug addiction. This euphoria fades with time as the vampire adjusts to his or her new condition.
Siring - To become a vampire, a person is either fed with their sire's blood when close to death or to be brought close to death with a vampire's blood in his or her system. The person doesn't actually die during the siring, only appears to be dead and falls unconscious. When they awaken, which could take minutes or hours, depending on the sire's age, the person reawakens as a vampire.
Physiology
Biology - They have a beating heart, they do not age and retain the appearance and bodily condition that they had when they where sired . If the person being sired is terminally ill, they are revitalized to a hale and hearty state.
Body Temperature - Is lower than humans but not ice cold. To most humans, their temperature is unremarkable. They enjoy the touch of cold , be it ice..winters or cold water....and find it relaxing. If they have recently fed, they do feel a bit warmer than normal.
Children - can not bear children or father children except by siring.
Image - though they can have a reflection in a mirror or glass, they can not be captured by photograph and film strip. Digital film can capture them.
Tastes - Food and drink have relatively no taste to them. Blood, however, has a special flavor they find desirable.
