She had followed their trail for what seemed like an eternity, crossing borders and oceans, all while maintaining a discreet presence. The allure of the business venture had captivated her during her time in Europe, then another thing caught her attention. The abrupt closure and subsequent disappearance of familiar faces had only fueled her curiosity further.
As the days turned into weeks and the weeks into months, she found herself standing outside the establishment in the gritty city of Chicago. He was a creation of her sire, a chylde. With a soft snort, she approached the silver-haired proprietor, who was relatively new to the scene. He had taken over part of the business not long before the mysterious disappearance from Poland.
"Grigori," she addressed him, her voice as smooth and delicate as a lavender bud on the verge of blooming. The surprise flickered in his eyes, though he concealed it well. "Katarina," he responded, turning to face her. "What brings you here?" he inquired, genuinely curious. "The same reason as always... the company you choose to keep," she replied, her tone laced with a hint of disdain. He gestured towards the empty alcoves, emphasizing that there was no one of interest present. "No, it's not a mortal this time... nor someone addicted to the bite of a vampire. It's the undead you harbor, or rather, brought here," she explained, shrugging nonchalantly. "Why didn't you just dispose of him in some alley?" she questioned, her curiosity piqued.
"Why on earth would I even consider that?" Grigroi inquired, his grin widening as he maintained his sarcastic tone.
"What purpose could you possibly have for him?"
"Simply because I wanted to test if you would actually come," Grigori replied, leaving her unsure of whether he was telling the truth or not. Was it a mix of both? Or was it all just empty words?
"Can I see him in person this time?" she inquired. The last time she had caught a glimpse of him, he was suffering from withdrawal, and she had only seen him through a window in a small room.
"He's... awake," Grigori mentioned with a shrug. He didn't mention whether the man was coherent or not. "Follow me," he motioned towards the back, leading her down a flight of stairs to the sub-basement level of the building.
Eventually, she found herself standing in front of an open doorway, peering into the dimly lit room. "Do you remember your name? Do you know who you are?" she questioned the man, pondering whether he would respond or if he would remain lost in his own thoughts, as he had been during her previous visits.
He'd tried to forget Alyx. the love of his life, but each attempt only pushed him deeper into this world. Deep down.. he hated being here. But he didn't know where to be or even what to be anymore or who to be. He couldn't even say how long he'd been here. He would guess.. years. He knew his blood was used sometimes to feed the bleeders who were addicted to vampire blood
Either way he was.. lost. Alyx.. a name that would haunt him forever. Every young woman who he fucked, who he drank from became.. Alyx. Whether they wanted to be or not. Well except two. Sioned and another. He just couldn't remember the other's name. Though he'd remember it upon seeing her. And he'd never done anything with Sioned but drank from her and let her feel the rush of release just from the act of feeding.
Her.. Where did she go? Did she know they moved?
He'd lost himself in the high again. Coherent might be a stretch, but he certainly did know when someone entered. Hours had gone by since his last feeding and the new high hit when he heard.. her.. voice. A slow smile spread across his face. He'd heard the voice of an angel.. and she was here.
Who is he? What's his name? Does he remember?
"Why?"
Why should he remember any of that? As he pondered the questions shadows lapped at his feet and hands, but he didn't move much. He had been suffering from withdrawl, but here in Chicago someone had brought it in with them and gave it to him after he drank from them. He didn't ask for it, probably didn't want it.. but that mattered little now. At least he was no longer suffering from withdrawl.. cuz that.. sucks.. worse way possible to die.. really die. At least in his mind.
Perhaps if it went through the full course of withdrawl.. he might start to remember things. His heart certainly did. He's screamed Alyx's name for a couple of weeks as he went through it.

But right now it was a stab of pain that happened over and over again as the shadows sought to hide him from it's memory. So far, it had done a very good job of that. ... Much to his detriment.

When that wall shatters you know. It's instant and happens much quicker than you might have imagined. Shadows surround both you and him in an instant trapping you within them, his hand grabbing your neck as you mention Alyx..
His voice was deep. You'd almost think it was the voice of another as you are slammed against the nearest wall. The drugs fueling his strength making it impossible for you to find a way out of it.
"The light was stolen from the when he was stolen from me the second time! His loss too great to bear! I shall not allow him to remember!"
It was almost as if the shadows had spoken But it was Max, this version of Max. Not the one that exsisted prior to Alyx disappearing.. the second time. His face is barely an inch from yours. He smells.. badly. But something in his eyes shifts. They widen a little more and without warning the shadows fall from around them and he lets you go as he falls to the floor, his eyes rolling back as though unconscious.
Though he isn't unconscious. The sudden adrenaline rush, at that moment, collided with the drug in his system.

Most memories were still held back. Like how he came to be in this.. existence. It wasn't initally by choice, but once the drug took hold he lost himself in it because in his broken mind.. Alyx was gone again. As much as he tried to put himself in to Torpor or just end himself altogether, the shadows would not allow it. They stopped him each time he tried to harm himself.. except where the drugs were concerned.
When you kneel down beside him without knowing why or even really aware of it, he curls around you. You can feel his body trembling. Was it your words? That you were here? Even Isabella had left him. Anne, Jenny.. they were gone, or at at least they were not there. For someone who had said he didn't need anyone, he lied. To them, to himself.
The sudden rage that erupted had done enough to push the drug far enough out of his system that his need for it grew. But he would never cry out for it.
Only Alyx. That would happen soon enough. Right now his mind was working to piece things back together. It wouldn't be easy or without pain. "Know..." the only breathed out word he can muster. It's in the withdrawl he can see it, know it and it will be hitting him soon enough. Someone will hear him, someone will try to ease his pain by bringing him what he craves second during this time. Always first.. he craves Alyx.. second is the drugs..

As he curled around her, he couldn't seen the ache that pressed across her face, distorting it like a mask before she composed herself. Right now, inspite of his eyes being closed and his body starting to notice the lack of drug, he was hyperaware of everything around him.. around both you and him. Even Grigori outside the door.

The yard was the size of a postage stamp, and the neighbors houses were too close...but ...they were farther apart than the apartments would have been and she didn't have people living above or below her. It was good enough. The furnishings were worn leather and oak, the carpet, freshly changed, a dark blue that contrasted with the cream walls.

It was to the east she carried him, settling him down on a sheet covered mattress. She'd never gotten around to fixing up the room. There seemed no reason. Then again, she hadnt gotten around to fixing her room with more than a coverlet atop the plain white sheets. A chair darted in from the kitchen, skidding across the floor before it stopped next to the bed. After laying him down, she sat on the torn plastic and metal chair leaning over to keep on hand resting upon his arm.

This would be the first time in years that he had laid on a bed of any kind. well that wasn't on the floor and covered in who knows what bodily fluids. He shifts a little on the bed to get comfy, then stills. As your hand moves to his arm, he shifts it to take your hand in his, albeit loosely. The shadows resting at his feet for now. only slight movement as if they were waiting. How long he stays like that.. who knows. It could be days before the withdrawl really starts to settle and take hold

She supposed it did. but it mattered little before. The house next door was so close light barely reached the narrow yard between the two buildings.
Good in a way. It was several minutes before even one of their bodies moved as she reached to the seat and moved it until her knees were pressed tightly into the mattress and she leaned down to rest her head against his shoulder. Their hands, his loose and hers tightly clasped kept them connected as she began to sing a soft lullaby. One which had not been heard in centuries and a language few now remembered. She barely remembered the old French but it stayed with her.

As he 'slept', she soothed a cloth over his face and arms, removing the remnants of his ragged clothing to complete his ablutions for him. When he was cleaned of the most visible dirt, she soothed powder through his hair to absorb the oils and dirt, gently lifting his head to wrap a towel around it.
The task took near an hour with many changes of water and the clothing tossed in the back yard. It was only then that she took the coverlet from her bed to drape over him before resuming her seat to wait and watch over him. Now and again, the same melody fell from her lips, the Occitan words falling as easily as the English. Before dawn, in the midst of the dark night, she had moved from the chair to kneel by the bed, her head resting on the mattress as she closed her eyes. She had a feeling she'd need all the rest she could get

He slept through it all and through the day. His mind blank as it tried to put the pieces back together. The shadows at his feet remained still with very little movement. It was a sign of the state of his mind.
However as night fell again he starts to stir. There is a soft groan and growl.
"Fuck..."
he had a headache. He hadn't experienced this bad of one in a long time.. very long time. A shudder moves down his body with it exiting as a moan of pain. He could feel the trembling deep within. He knew he wasn't in the den's basement anymore, he wondered where he was and slowly opened his eyes.
The shadows moving a little more now as he stirs and regains consciousness.

As he groaned, she felt trembling of his body from where her hand rested and her cheek felt upon the mattress. Slowly she lifted her head up to regard him, "Max..." that whisper of a voice lest it be to loud for him to bear. "I'm here," she rose to perch on the side of the bed to look down upon him.

As you offer your wrist, his trembling hand takes a hold of it. He's gentle, sort of. Fangs sink into your wrist and he closes his eyes in a soft moan as the drink fills his mouth. Something familiar about it, but he doesn't dwell on it. Not right now.
He drinks though for as long as he knows he should. And even before you pull away he's releasing your wrist and his tongue sliding over the quickly healing wound. He drops his head down and licks his lips with a sigh.

He is being honest. Though he really did want more. But he understood the need to give what was needed and nothing more. This wasn't his first attempt at being rid of the drug. Maybe you won't cave and give it to him as he shamelessly begs for it.

She'd purchased several varieties of the growing in popularity drinks put out by a company reported to be vampire led. Either way, she'd tried them all, found some agreeable and others, less so. Picking up two packs, she carried them back to him on the bed. "Now, I don't know if you've had these, I've tasted them. This is ...blood with wine and brandy,..this has vodka, which might help your withdrawal symptoms...and this..well..who disllikes a bloody mary?" as she placed the six packs on the bed. "Drink up buttercup," she said lightly, almost teasingly as if to a younger brother.
Barely giving him time to absorb her words, she took the towel, roughly scrubbed his hair with it before fishing a brush out of her back pocket. "Just a quick brush so you can drink and then I will give it a more through brushing after I get most of it out with you leaning over."

"And relax....it'll get bad soon enough, no sense thinking about it until then...." her hand rested lightly on his shoulder and he could feel her lips pressing against the top of his head. You were right. It will get bad enough sooner than later. He's not sure he's looking forward to it.. no scratch that. He knows he's not looking forward to it. A sigh at your words and gentle touch and kiss to the top of his head

is whispered as he sighs softly. There is a few moments of silence as he drinks. Then he asks.

Oh he's sure deep down he knows you. Something about you is familiar, but he doesn't know what it is. Not at all at this point. that will come, eventually. But right now much of his past is hidden from him. At least the names and faces that trigger his need to forget.. though he never does. And that is the tricky thing about addiction.. no one ever forgets and that just pushes them deeper.

Serious in his words, all of them, but especially the apology. He does remember the things he's said to the air and the walls. So he knows it'll be worse with someone here. He knows you could have left him there, he would have either killed everyone or died trying. Well not everyone. He did have a few favorites that he'd make sure went to a good home.
Maybe he'll go back and help them find a better life. Or maybe he'll still be the asshole he's always been and put them in a worse life. Except the ones he likes. They will get a good life.

"I might have to look into being a war historian full time. Keep me busy and out of trouble. Being able to give an accurate account is a good trait too."

He was thoughtful towards his once lover, but the sorrow at his death had long passed. Now he was remembered in quiet contemplation.
His breath hitches as you say you know Alyx, the realization in your words that you are also his chylde hits. Though there is no reaction. He nods though in acknowledgement.

He'd fallen in love with Alyx so his times away were usually not long. Well until shit happened for real that affected both of them in ways he still doesn't understand.. but those memories are still held captive in the back of his mind.
But there is a stirring. And this prompts a slight wince, his hand going to his stomach and rubbing it lightly. Now whether it's the stirring of memories or the withdrawl it's hard to say as they both have the same effect on him these days.
He does notice you say 'know' not 'knew', but he doesn't correct you. How can he when he can barely think about the man without losing his mind.. literally.

the words followed by a bitter laugh and a sigh. Taking a breath in quiet thought of what he does remember and furrows his brow a moment, then shrugs again
"I really don't know. But whatever you do don't let me feed from you directly. If you want to give me some of your blood, put it in a bottle. I won't stop until you are drained if you don't."
He's deadly serious and apparently he gets incredibly strong in those moments and times. But he turns to look at her, the pain of what is to come already showing in his eyes.
"Whatever you do decide to do, don't raise your voice to me. When I'm most angry I seem to respond to the gentle much more favorably than to the angry. And please, don't take anything I say personally. that is the withdrawl talking. And don't leave.Though there will be a period where I will be out cold, so if need to feed that would be the best time. It's after that the violence starts."
He's warning you. Alyx could calm him down, but he's not here is he? Nope.. his lover, partner, best friend is gone from this world and he is to blame for it. Yes.. he blames himself for Alyx disappearing again. He should have gone with him. At least then.. they'd be together.

Gently placing it on the edge of the chair, she poured the conditioner in her hands, 'ok, lower the cloth,' to begin slathering it on his face to coat and soften his beard. "don't move," she cautioned him again as she took up the razor, opened it and began to slide it up his throat, slicing away the hairs that grew and hid the contours of his neck and face.. As she worked, she tipped his head back, or this way or that until she finally rinsed the blade and wiped his face. "There..."

When you place the cloth on his face, tell him hold it there after telling him not to move, he just grins

even before he's finished speaking his hand is on the cloth on his face. That feels good and you hear some sort of sound indicating he's pleased. He listens as you open the package. Then he brings the cloth down again at your command.. he chuckles.
He doesn't move, but lets you move him as you give him a shave. He sighs and nods
"That feels amazing. Thank you."
He lays back again as the pain starts to creep up, making a face.. holding it before it passes for now. He pats the bed beside him and says softly
"Lay here with me until I fall asleep please."
asked softly, eyes lifted to yours before they close again. He can feel it starting. Though you won't really hear him until it becomes unbearable. And that's when Alyx's name will fall from his lips.

says to ALL: In the several days which he'd been here, the days had passed in mostly quite contemplation. Some hours he slept with nary a hint to the troubles which they both knew would arrive sooner than either wished. She'd taken to dressing in the most casual of ways, today in cut off sweat pants and sweatshirt with sleeves torn away years before.
She'd been busy in her bedroom, tucking new sheets onto the bed, folding the corners into a flat triangle before tucking the sheeting material beneath the mattress when she heard the first groan.
She hesitated, listening with bated breath until within moments another groaning moan followed. Her soft sigh breathed around her room, "So...now it begins.." as she headed to the spare bedroom she'd housed him. Taking up a water filled basin from the kitchen, she carried it into the room to set it on the table which had been placed by the chair she'd used previously. The sheen glistened causing her to dip a cloth into the cool water, squeezing out the water before gently blotting it over his flesh, both to clenase and to cool. He'd told her the shakes would be first, and so he was right.
"I'm here," she spoke quietly, not knowing if he would still be aware of him, but she'd promised she'd be with him, and telling him was the first way of him knowing. The cooling baths as he suffered was another.

Now and again she listened in silence to the changing of the moans, noticing when they grew deeper as if the pain and suffering he felt slowly began to rise
When would it peak? How bad would it be? "Shhh..shhh..love... I'm here, .." the tension in his body, in spite of herself, slowly began to affect her as her own body tensed with each soft cry of pain and suffering. "I'm here...I'm here.." though mentally she knew the best person for him would be the one he missed the most. The one he believed was gone. "no no no.." she chided herself quietly.

Not this time. it was as if his body was trying to exact the right amount of suffering for his stupidity.
A low groan as his body shakes violently, convulsing even as he tries to tighten the ball he'd curled into. His eyes shot open and the shadows brought a bucket to him. He hung his head over the side of the bed and dry heaved into the bucket. He figured there would nothing coming out, but better to be safe than sorry.
Oh.. he forgot about this part. yeah. This is a thing. He still managed to curl though. When he wasn't dry heaving into the bucket he was shaking uncontrollably. He doesn't remember how long this part lasts. But even dead, his body still wants to throw up anything he might have put in his stomach that hasn't been absorbed into his blood.
Groans and moans, even the occasional sobbing can be heard from him.
How did he let this happen? Well there is a story to it. In part it's his fault, but also it was forced on him.. but he put himself in a place where it could be forced on him.. in him.
Still he'll berate himself later for this. Right now he just wants to die again.. for real.

Over and over the questions beat her mind as if by sheer repetition she'd come to a decision, but she said she'd not leave him. And to ...face...the other, she'd have to leave him.
The sight of him wretching had her turning her back on him, the sight near painful to see. She remembered herself in such a state, though much of the rest of her time had faded into just a nagging sense of discomfort and pain. The particulars she'd successfully pushed deep into her subconscious, nothing she really wanted to remember.

words barely whispered, but both the physical and mental anguish was in his voice. Every so often he would continue to whisper his name. The only time he said his name in the last few years was during withdrawl and sex. That's it. In the throws of pain and passion, which he often saw as the same these days.
His body shaking, convulsing as the need for the drug rose. Some might say he would get a fever, he would definitely say he has one. the sweats continue. The groans and moans of pain, usually as he spoke Alyx's name.

It wasn't as if she hated Alyx, for the most part she held a pacifist attitude towards him. She neither hated him nor really loved him. He was simply her sire and someone she'd not seen for longer than ...longer than Max had been without him.
"Max..."
Would he even be cognizant of it, if Alyx were here? But as she heard him again for the umpteenth time calling for Alyx, she cursed softly.
"Max......Max...I'll be back. I'll be back as soon as I can....I know I promised I wouldn't leave but, I have to try, I have to try to get him. I'll be back. I promise, I'll be back,"
She'd seen enough of the shadows flickering around and actually performing small duties to know somehow they'd watch over him. Speaking aloud to them, whether they understood or she could hope they understood. "Watch over him, I'll be back...I need to ....I'll be back," before mentally searching her mind for what she knew,...what she remembered and disappeared in the darkness.

The shadows seem to move in a way to indicate they heard you. They would just continue to do what they were already doing.
As you leave, his voice grows louder.

Each cry of his heart brought that name from his lips. Between convulsions he'd curl and weep into the pillow. The bed wet with sweat and blood. This cycle would continue, always that name whether yelled or whispered.
Would he recognize Alyx as being here and not a hallucination? That would remain to be seen.

His heart clutched tightly in his chest, pain shooting through him as he both felt the pain and heard the pain that consumed his Max. Max. How could it be? How had he not known? But the stench of the drugs as they seeped from the pores and demaned to be renewed, he knew. Something in it changed the scent, the flavor of Max's blood. Changed him into someone Alyx didn't know.
Would he know him now? He didn't know. Fuck, he didn't care. He was seeing him, he could feel him, even in a warped and contaminated way. One second he was approaching the doorway, the next he was perched on the bed with Max cradled against his lap. "Max, my darling love. I've got you. I've got you love." the scottish brogue thick with emotion and pain that moved through him as he strove to comfort the man he'd though had died and was gone from him.
Karin's hand, still gripping Galadriel's wrist, suddenly released her with a quick look, "sorry...didn't mean to grip so tightly." She'd barely been able to get the information to Alyx before she'd dragged them, willing or unwilling to her home.

But his mind was still lost in the anguish. The soothing voice reached inside and the agony that he felt seemed to ebb a little. His body still shook, but Your name was a whisper on his lips.
Deep down he knew it was you, but in the moment, on the surface he figured it was a hallucination. You felt real, smelled real.. he'd take it. Your presence having an effect that happened within the time it took for you to enter the room and his head to be in your lap.
His body was expelling that stench, that drug that changed him scent. He hadn't noticed it. But then he hadn't noticed much when he was stung out.
"I'm sorry.. I'm sorry I lost you Alyx I lost you again.. I.. I broke.. "
words whispered as if he were talking to a ghost, the occasional convulsing of body. His eyes remained closed though, not wanting to wake from this dream.

He'd not really believe her, after all she'd left so many years before he'd not known that she even survived. But he'd traveled alll over Europe and the United States. Finding Galadriel was one thing, finding Max had been impossible.
Impossible until Katarina arrived. He met her gaze, knowing their brief conversation at his home would become an extended on here in hers. She nodded as if divining his thoughts. A second later he met Galadriel's gaze. Sorrow was in his eyes as they turned back down to Max held in his arms. She knew he mourned the believed loss of Max, now he was holding him. A miracle to him. "We'll get through this," he assured Max the idea that his love felt he was broken shattered Alyx's heart.

then she looked to Alyx meeting his gaze then moving to crouch close, but not too close; asking him.

her eyes had met Alyx's eyes, her voice soft, just above a whisper. She would do whatever she needed to. She knew how much Alyx loved Max and was glad to see them together again. It tugged at her heart to see Max like this as well. She had experienced Alyx's sorrow when they travelled, searching. She was new the world of the supernatural so she didn't know all the places to look, but damn she tried.. and hard. And she would be there for Max as she had been for Alyx, supporting both of them now.
Max whimpered a little. The calming of him would indicate that much of the pain he felt was definitely fueled by the pain he felt when he thought he lost you. He still did think you were gone, that this was a hallucination, even if the scent and energy was the same.
He had heard Galadriel speak though the words didn't register, and the shadows recognized her as being with Alyx.. He couldn't speak to anyone but the Alyx aparition.. he couldn't even open his eyes as he trembled with the occasional convulsing. His face was soon buried in Alyx's lap, in part for the scent.. but also to hide the shameless sobs that would happen between the groans and moans of pain, the convulsions as his body ached for the drug that had coursed through him for over a year.

"When he gets sweating we'll wipe him down...clean up the bloody sweat and help cool him off."
Alyx tensed at the pressure of Max's face in his lap, the stirring effect of memories were strong in his mind. With it was the desire to help ....to do anything for him. What was the best thing for a suffering vampire

Without giving it another moment of contemplation, he bit into his own wrist while turning his body slightly to shift Max's head away from his crotch. "Max...Max...if you can understand me, I need you to drink." he said when he shifted his hand from his own bite to Max's lips. "come on now, love....drink..." he could feel his own blood seeping into his trousers and knew within moments it would start congealing and he'd have to start over if Max didn't take the ....'bait'.
In the kitchen, Karin tensed, inhaled deeply and hissed softly as she caught the scent of Alyx's blood. "Oh, god.." she murmured before turning without a word to anyone and headed to the front door. A second later it opened and slammed behind her as she walked outside.

She almost chuckled as Karin scoffed, nodding though to her instructions
"I can definitely do that."
she grabbed some clothes as you dumped the basin, then refilled it and added ice. She took the basin from Karin, then returned to Alyx's side with clothes and basin, setting them down beside her. Two clothes going into the basin. Then she watched, quietly
Max lifts his head as You turn to bring his face from your crotch. The scent of your blood filled his senses and he moans softly. As you place your wrist to his lips he latches on, drinking as told to.. Drawing your blood into his mouth. Another soft moan as you taste just like his Alyx. A taste he will never forget, a taste burned into his memory.
He doesn't drink a lot, but drinks enough for now. Releasing your wrist. His body shaking still, the groans and moans of pain still heard on occasion. His head settling there, to the side as he remained curled there. The blood was having the desired affect on his body and perhaps even his mind. Still he wasn't quite lucid enough to realize it really is you, but he'll be happy in this dream for now.
The cold sweats would come again, a few more times, as his body gave almost a final attempt at getting what it thought it wanted. And when that happened Galadriel would carefully wash him. There wasn't much blood this time and even the sweat was minimal.

says to || Jacobean Ecstasy || : Karin waited until she couldn't easily breath in the scent of fresh Alyx blood, sitting on the front stoop with her head down, her arms clutched over the back of her head was as far as she was determined to go. Damn. She'd not thought of that, hell....given the opportunity of feeding from Alyx....what would she do? He smelled as she remembered. A depressing thought as she sat there until the scent faded and nearly disappeared.
Nearly.
Alyx was cradling Max against him again, an almost satisfied smile on his face as he soothed his Max, gently moving his finges through the mans hair. His own particular way was far from that used by Karin. Seeing Galadriel was ready and willing to bathe down Alyx, she perched herself on the chair, sitting close enough she could reach out and touch both Max and Alyx as the hours passed and Max's body fought to purge itsefl of hte poison with himself.

says to || Jacobean Ecstasy || : He's pretty sure that his body was just trying to purge anything. Well except Alyx's blood. That seems to be recieved well. He's vaguely aware there are others here.. Karin he remembers, then another who has cleaned him a few times already from the sweats.
And Alyx.. wait.. Alyx? No he's hallucinating. He really is. But he'll take it. If it helps him get through this, he'll take it.
As the house pass and Galadriel is cleaning him up less and less, his mind is slowly returning to him. The fingers moving through his hair.. so familiar. He knew every part of Alyx.. those fingers, this lap. He knew it well. Tears wet falling from closed eyes
"Alyx.. my Alyx. I will always love you."
It's true, he's not yet fully aware of the fact it reall is Alyx. He's kinda in denial. He doesn't want to be disappointed or for the pain to return. He sighs softly. His body is trembling softly. He feels the blanket pulled on him again, the gentle hand of Galadriel on his shoulder. he whispers
"Thank you."
Sleep wanting to take him, but he fights it, not wanting to fall asleep and Alyx be gone when he wakes up again.

says to || Jacobean Ecstasy || : Karin had been removing the basin, giving Galadriel fresh icy water after each wipe down, but always returned to chair which sat nearby.
"I will always love you," he whispered softly, a deep sigh enveloping him as he feels Max sigh softly, feeling the tears dampen his trousers which bore sweat and blood stains from the liquid oozing from Max's pores over the past hours.
Feeling his Max fighting sleep, he looked at Katarina, "Hold him for a moment." waiting until she tucked her arms beneath Max to lift him slightly agianst her chest, whispering as she did. "Just a moment, just adjusting here," lest he worry about the movement of Alyx, if he was even really aware of Alyx.
With his back now tucked against the wall, Alyx lay down with one arm stretched out across the bed, "Now," to Katarina. As she lay Max back down, he cradled the man close to him, spooning him from behind with his arms wrapped tightly around him. "Resy my love. I'll be here when you awaken.." he told him, his glance to Katarina one of dismissal and the look to Galadriel one of smilng affection. "Thank you for your help."
His words brought a flash of anger in Karin's eyes as she gritted her teeth, turned to stalk back into the kitchen to clean up the sink and cloths that lay as bloody rags in the side sink.

says to || Jacobean Ecstasy || : He whimpers as he feels another holding him and Alyx moving. Wanting to reach out to hold onto the aparation but he doesn't. Then he feels the man behind him as he's laid down again. A wistful sigh at the words. He sinks into the bed, against the man who smells, sounds, and feels like Alyx. The soothing tone encouraging him to sleep, making a promise that he'll be there when he wakes.
He can't fight it and drifts to sleep. Easily he'll sleep a full day, maybe more.
Galadriel smiles, nodding softly. She leans a little to kiss Alyx's cheek, caress Max's shoulder before she gets up. She's not sure the deal with karin, but she's sure it'll get sorted out. Well she hopes it does. For now she gathers the basin and clothes she has, then gets up, closing the door behind her to give them space
